Main register, satellites and kitchen screens
How the devices in your venue share the work and why everything keeps working without internet.
Three roles
| Role | What it does |
|---|---|
| Main register | Stores the database: menu, tickets, closures, settings. Only one per venue. |
| Satellite | Takes orders and payments, connected to the main register. Tablet, phone or PC. |
| Kitchen screen | Shows the orders to prepare. |
Everyone sees the same thing in real time: a table opened on a phone shows up instantly on the register.
Without internet
The network works inside your venue (Wi-Fi or cable). If the internet goes down, satellites keep working with the main register.
The main register must be switched on for satellites to work. Keep it plugged in and without sleep mode.
Encrypted connection
Devices talk over an encrypted connection (mutual TLS). Each new device must be accepted on the main register after checking a 6-digit verification code shown on both screens.
Satellite seats
Your licence includes a number of seats for satellites and kitchen screens. You'll see it in Settings › Terminals. If you need more, add them in your account.
