Set up printers
Add your receipt, kitchen and bar printers over network, USB or Bluetooth, and test the connection.
TPVStream works with 58 or 80 mm ESC/POS thermal printers. You can have several: one for receipts, one for the kitchen, one for the bar.
Add a printer
- Plug in and switch on the printer.
- Open Settings › Printers and tap Add.
- Choose the Printer type: Receipts, Kitchen or Bar.
- Choose the Connection type (see below).
- Choose the Paper width: 58 or 80 mm.
- Tap Test connection: a test receipt should print.
- Save. Tick Default printer for the main receipt printer.
Connection types
| Connection | When to use it | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Printer with network cable or Wi-Fi | IP Address and Port (usually 9100) |
| System | Printer installed in Windows | The System name |
| Serial / USB | USB printer plugged into the device | Choose it in Scan devices |
| Bluetooth | Bluetooth printer on Android | Pair it first in Android settings |
Don't know a network printer's IP? Tap Scan Network: TPVStream looks for printers on your local network and lists them.
Print in the kitchen and at the bar
Create a Kitchen printer and a Bar printer, and choose each product's Target Printer. See Kitchen orders.
If printing fails
Print jobs go to a queue that retries by itself if the printer is off or out of paper. If it still doesn't print, see The printer won't print.
