A satellite won't connect
What to check when a tablet or phone doesn't find the main register or keeps disconnecting.
On this page
It can't find the main register
- The main register is on with TPVStream open.
- Both devices are on the same Wi-Fi. Watch out for guest Wi-Fi, which isolates devices.
- On Windows, TPVStream is allowed through the firewall for private networks.
- Try the QR code or Manual connection (IP and port 5487).
"Waiting for approval"
The satellite is waiting for you to accept it: on the main register, check the code and tap Accept. The window appears when a user is signed in on the main register.
"Connection refused"
The main register refused the device. To reconnect it, the administrator must remove it from the list in Settings › Terminals and accept it again.
"Device key not recognised"
The main register knows this device with another security key (for example after reinstalling). Remove it in Settings › Terminals and connect it again.
"This is not the main POS"
The configured address answers, but it's not a main register (often it's the satellite's own IP). Tap Reconfigure connection and choose the right register.
"No licence left"
All satellite seats are in use. Remove a device you no longer use or extend your licence.
It disconnects often
- Move the satellite closer to the router or add a Wi-Fi repeater.
- Turn off battery saver for TPVStream on Android.
- Give the main register a fixed IP in the router.
